Creative and emerging hospitality group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Beverage Director with a strong background in cocktails, whiskey, and coffee to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will be a creative and passionate leader, responsible for overseeing the beverage program, including cocktail creation, whiskey selection, and coffee offerings. This role requires a deep understanding of current beverage trends, exceptional management skills, and the ability to enhance the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Beverage Program Development:

• Design and implement a unique and innovative beverage menu that includes a wide range of cocktails, whiskey selections, and specialty coffee offerings.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate them into the beverage program to maintain a competitive edge.

Staff Management and Training:

• Recruit, train, and mentor beverage staff, ensuring high standards of service and product knowledge.
• Conduct regular training sessions on cocktail preparation, whiskey knowledge, and coffee brewing techniques.

Inventory and Cost Control:

• Manage beverage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining optimal levels of supplies.
• Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability while maintaining quality.

Customer Experience:

• Ensure that all beverages served meet quality standards and enhance the overall guest experience.
• Interact with guests to gather feedback and continuously improve the beverage offerings.

Event and Promotion Planning:

• Plan and execute beverage-focused events, promotions, and collaborations to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Work closely with the marketing team to promote the beverage program through various channels.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations related to beverage service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all beverage preparation and storage areas.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Beverage Director, Mixologist, or similar role with a focus on cocktails, whiskey, and coffee.
• In-depth knowledge of beverage trends, particularly in cocktails and whiskey.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Certification in Mixology or a related field is preferred.
